Professor McDermott calls in Disease Detectives

Professor Robyn McDermott sends in the disease detectives against the "obesity epidemic,"from Cafe Scientifique at the Tanks Arts Centre, Cairns.

Presenting amongst a group of James Cook University researchers, dedicated to understanding threats and impacts on our tropical lives, Robyn discussed genetic and cultural predispositions to obesity and our emerging understanding of how our digestive systems are affected by modern lifestyles.

This was an "Inspiring Australia" initiative, suppported by the Australian Government as part of National Science week, with the support of Cairns Regional Council.
