CCDP hosts Seminar presentations by Visiting Researchers Professor Alan Shiell and Professor Penny Hawe

The Centre proudly hosted visiting researchers Professor Alan Shiell and Professor Penny Hawe in August.

Prof Alan Shiell is a health economist and CEO of the Centre for Excellence in Intervention and Prevention Science in Melbourne. 

Prof Penny Hawe is a community psychologist and professor of public health based at the Menzies Centre for Health Policy at the University of Sydney.

Both are among the lead investigators at The Australian Prevention Partnership Centre.

Their joint presentation "Does 'system thinking' offer anything more than what we already know?" was held on Monday 24 August, at JCU Cairns campus. 

The following day Prof Penny Hawe presented a further seminar, held at Apunipima Cape York Health Council and entitled "Evaluating community level health promotion programs: general considerations and specific issues for Indigenous Australian programs".
